Hi I remember the Starbird that is some serious nostagia you brought back thanks!
Now, I have two toys that I am looking for on ebay and they are real difficult, certainly not as popular as these mentioned...
1. is a clear bodied wind up train with coloured plastic cab and red? crank on side - best bit all cogs inside boiler operated and worked bellows at front to create music / sounds??? REAL MASTERPIECE as I remember!
The other is impossible, as I destroyed and the only memory is part of a robot (torso?) in grey plastic with square control panels on it - rectangular shaped but edges were rounded so only two flat (widest) sides.... I think it may have held two AA batteries to match profile but if not it was that sort of size. Cannot remember anything else about it though :( I really need to find this lol!
Anyone also remember plastic ambulances with real sirens and flashing lights from the seventies? I also pulled them apart and was amazed to find the sirens were little motors with proper air raid sirens in them! Brilliant!

Hi Rick,

I'm looking to buy some 70s Mego Micronauts in Hong Kong as a gift for a friend in Australia and I was wondering if you'd be able to help me.

I'm from Aus myself and just visiting HK, leaving 5 Feb 09, and have been trying to find stores that sell vintage action figures/toys - specifically Mego Micronauts from the 70s.

My friend already has these two items: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VINTAGE-MICRONAUTS-MEGO-BARON-KARZA-ANDROMEDA-RARE_W0QQitemZ260338259924QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_Act

and currently has his eye on these: http://shop.ebay.com.au/merchant/matchstyck

Would you happen to know where in Hong Kong I might be able to find Micronauts of this ilk or provide the location for some vintage toy stores in HK?

Any assistance in this endeavour would be much appreciated.

Thank you kindly =)

Hi Jack. Sorry, not worth much. Most Micro collectors didn't have them, don't value them, and they are extremely common. In perfect shape, in a box, each is worth about $15.
