Indeed, here in the UK I'm not sure we ever got the TIE bomber. I certainly never saw one, then or since. It would be fascinating to know how many are actually still out there!

Hello, Rick. I am an avid collector of Kenner's original die cast line. It began when I joined EBAY and was curious what my old toys were worth. I knew the only ship I got was the star destroyer but couldn't find it. Its in the rafters of my parents garage. I know for a fact I loved this thing and when my dad was storing toys away to make me grow up I gave him the destroyer with the chase ship because I wanted them to be together. I never cared about that before. Anyway, I started seeing what people were paying for that ship and what a surprise I got! The strange thing is, after winning 13 star destroyers, 4 millenium falcons, 2 snow speeders, 2 x-wings, 3 slave 1, and 1 vader tie, the amount I paid for them doesn't pass the $200 mark. Most sellers didn't know what they had, they listed them as Micro Machines. My collection is in excellent condition( for 30+years old) and am amazed every time I check EBAY and see what these things go for sometimes. The tie bomber I never saw when I was a kid. That is truly the holy grail of this line. I like your site, Very informative.
